Okay, this isn't about a pregnant woman or birth, but, what I realized is that our children can be love warriors, very naturally.
So, let me share with you something that just happened a few weeks ago. I continue to process it in order to fully appreciate and understand my son on a deep level.
He was swimming in the pool with his 5 year old friend when they decided to go off the diving board. My son went off first, then swam to the ladder, (he knows how to swim as well as a 5 year old can). Then his friend went off the diving board. He actually cannot swim and began to struggle in the water. My son saw him struggle and immediately swam to him and tried help him get to the side. Well, they both started going down...I was standing right there, so I reached into the pool and pulled them both to the side in one big swoop. All this happened within about 10-15 seconds. Everyone was fine. What I realized just now is that my son was a warrior. He saw what needed to be done and did it. Granted, he didn't actually have the skills to rescue his friend, but his intent was there. He was deliberate. He didn't wait for someone else to help his friend, he didn't call to me to help his friend or ask someone else what needed to be done. He just did what he could do in that dire moment.
As I integrate the archetypes into my own life, and start to identify them in myself and others...I am finding it easier for me to identify them in pregnant and birthing mothers.
Deep, deep gratitude to you, Pam.
ShelleyShelley Rahimnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7133983408787589363.post-80539359488594085242011-09-20T08:28:17.550-07:002011-09-20T08:28:17.550-07:00We miss you, Pam!
